Hello, new here. I'm fairly new to Mac...been on PC forever. I do have a 2008 Imac on which I have successfully installed Windows XP SP3 via VMware Fusion.

Just got my granddaughter a new Mac Book Pro (last year's model -2008 but brand new out of the box) and she needs to run Windows to use her Adobe Illustrator. She's new to Mac. We were advised to use BC for her so she would have all the power of her 4 GB ram for Illustrator rather than going the VM route. Plan on doing this tomorrow for her. We bought another new OEM Windows XP SP3 for this. After reading some of the posts here about keyboard problems while doing this install, do I need to go somewhere and find a Windows USB keyboard to accomplish this install via BC? I don't have one here, only my Imac USB keyboard.

I also am not sure whether we need to update this Boot Camp. It is BC 2.0. It seems the more I read in forums, the more confused I become. We are installing XP SP3, not updating from SP2. I have printed out the entire installation and setup guide (all 24 pages!) for Boot Camp, but it would appear I need a little more help.

Thanks for any help. I'm very nervous about doing this but pretty good at following directions.

I think you'll be fine as long as you have a wired keyboard of some kind. Just follow the directions and you shouldn't have a problem.
