For the first time in several months or more the ship time from the Apple retail site of both 667 and 800 Powerbooks is being listed as 3-5 days rather than 1-2 days. This is more telling than the shortages at 3rd party retailers.

Hopefully this is more evidence of an upcoming release.

Here's hoping.

Good news from Germany. The ship time for both TiBook models is now 6-8 days at the german AppleStore. I hope that I can place an order for my new one very soon. My old Pismo really needs a replacement

The delay may actually be related to the dock strikes we've had going on for the last month here on the west coast. All the tech manufacturers are hurting from the delays, and some new products (not Apple-related) have had their roll-outs delayed :-(

I am not sure but I've seen people say that the laptops are shipped by air.

I talked to a friend who's working in an Apple Store and he confirmed, that powerbooks are declared EOL. They ordered a few TiBooks last week but they didn't get them yet, what is a good sign for new ones. And there are no port strikes in Europe ...

Could someone please tell me where this shipping info is at the apple store? I've never seen it.

Thanks

Oh boy, here everybody goes on shipping times again. I'm hoping this has been a big indicator of new models in the past because everybody sure talks big about it. But don't get me wrong, I'm waiting for the new models too.

Put one in your shopping trolley and it will tell you. Just prey you dont get one with a wonky wheel, it'll take ages to get to the page with the shipping status.
Nothing to see, move along.

Yes, this has been mentioned several times in Apple's quarterly webcasts this year (but not the last one).

Actually, the ship time was at 3-5 days a few weeks ago (just prior to the date Sean predicted for a new release). I don't want to rain on this parade, because I'm hoping for an update as well, but I just want to point out that small changes in ship dates are not uncommon.

iBooks also 3-5 days as well.

I'm glad to see Apple show some business sense. Updated iBooks and PowerBooks just before Christmas shopping is a smart business move.

Just wish the upgrade cycle was shorter. Six month cycle is way too long.
