Your ability to seek out and destroy crappy accessories/ipod docks/movies/furniture is commendable.

So for the longest time I was utterly confused. I was thinking, wtf would anyone think they needed 2 250 GB HDs for their mini, let alone a power supply, and fans. Suddenly it hit me, he wasn't talking about the iPod -_-

MY EYES!!!

I could think of a million different/better materials. (wood being one of them). It looks like they used a pair of pants strait out of the 1980's.

That being said... it's an interesting idea.

$600 mac mini
$100 case/fan
$312 Two Hitachi 250GB/IDE SATA 7200RPM 8MB Cache
$167 - 1GB of RAM
- - - - - - - - - - - - -
$1179

For something that can store somewhere between 270 - 600 (depending on encoding size) movies.. or around 100 DVD in their native format.
