Get your credit cards ready, people. Jacob has made his prediction!

If you're going to spew random crap, at least call yourself Joseph. After all, he did interpret dreams.

Given your track record in these forums, isn't that a "coffee pot and kettle" situation?

If that were true, I might sell my Mac mini and get one, using my PB as the desktop machine until the rev b PB17s come out.

I'm not so much worried about size. I want something that's useable.

i probably shouldn't reveal this, but it's actually an 8" screen, and comes with an external 12" monitor for home use (taken from the current 12" powerbooks).

talk about size and quality!

Don't forget iSlide - HD resolution on a 2" screen. Comes with an aluminum microscope and a family-size bottle of Aspirin.

I've used Fujitsu's 10" 1280x768 laptop; the screen is very sharp and I felt no strain reading text. I would expect no less from Apple

I used a 10.4" Sony Vaio for about 2 1/2 years. The tiny screen really hard on my eyes even with an 800x600 resolution.

I believe in the 10.4" widescreen (used in SONY Vaios) spec for the new iBook. Especially when it is targeted towards a younger and a more "hip" crowd...who also have good eyesights Also, there WILL BE ANOTHER bigger model, probably a 13.3" widescreen (used in Fujitsu notebooks), for all you retirees

I think the 12" Powerbook will be the only 4:3 Apple laptop left.

i'd probably like the 10"...portability rocks.
as long as it could power an external monitor, and not run the fan on high...that sort of thing.
and as long as it doesn't follow standard apple practice, of underpowering the smaller books...

Yes, but when was that Vaio made? LCD technology has improved vastly in the last 2 years.

One more prediction:

The 10.4" iBook will NOT have an optical drive.

Well then the 5 of you who can't handle the resolution stick with the current powerbooks. Don't punish the rest of us who wear proper glasses or eyes are fine. Sorry but the rest of the world (PCs) have smaller resolutions and the screens are superior to the macs in every way. FYI the LCD inside of all current gen powerbooks and ibooks was created in 1998. Think about that. Everyone else is using lcds that were created in 2002-2004

Not true. At least the part about the optical drive There are some mini notebooks which include an optical drive, I've seen one in Japan (it was a Sony).

I think it was this one.

I sure do hope a "mini book" does come out. as I had posted many months ago ( check the archives) I had semi predicted that Apple should come out with one. as im sure many others have. I think it would be good for those Artists and musicians on the go. I've been saving up for a Powerbook but if a mini-book comes out, then I'm definitely getting one. No doubt about it. Sorry Powerbook fund.
one day you are going to wake up and
