I picked up a performa on ebay for 99 cents on ebay, 5 dollars in shipping. It also came with an apple adjustable keyboard, but no cable, so I just use my ADB 2 set. I cannot disgnose anything because I have a newer apple monitor than the performa itself, the apple monitor is apple video with no speakers, (from like 1997 or something) and the performas have HDI or soemthing, SO i am still waiting for the adaptor to arrive. When I turn it on I hear no startup noise (by the way, I think the performa 6100 series has the best startup noise), and the machine just runs, I can hear the HD spinning, but when I put a floppy in and turn it on, it doesn't eject it like it should. I mean it was only 99 cents... Is there supposed to be a startup noise right away without speakers, I have not tried it with a working set of speakers.

It's dead, Jim. I like all Macs, but there are times when it's best to let them go.

I have a Centris 610 in the garage you can have for the cost of shipping. Any takers?

Well it powers up and this sounds exactly like my old Performa, which still contains no pram battery and can be powered on by flicking it on, off and on again.

Pssh, don't act so surprised, I've seen worse go for much more.
I'll take the HD and toss it.

Sure it isn't 250MB? I vaguely remember selling those pizza box performas and thought that is what it was... could be wrong.

Well my dad got a 6116CD back in '95 or '96 and I'm pretty sure it was a 500. I know some of them did come with a 250 though.

I am taking the HD because its probably got like OS 7 on it, and if I ever got another performa at like a garage sale with a bad HD, I know it will probably not happen, but I am a pack rat.
