I'm would like to get a new iPod Touch but I think I may end up buying a new computer as well.
I currently use an 1GHZ eMac running OS X 10.3.9. I can see needing the OS upgrade for the iPod touch, but I also do not have a USB 2.0 port. Can the iPod Touch connect and sync to my eMac over firewire? I currently use an iPod dock connected this way to sync my iPod Photo 40GB. Do I need a new Mac to use the iPod Touch?
Thanks.

In all likelihood, the firewire will charge the iPod but not sync it as that's what happens with the current batch of iPods if you try and connect them via firewire and a dock. The next question would be can you sync the Touch with a USB 1 port? I've seen varying reports of success with iPods syncing over the older, slower speed port.
