I've been at ITT Tech for the past 2 years and I've found myself losing my passion for what I am doing. When I graduate I will attain an Associates in Web Development. I bought my first Mac a year ago and I've been completely drawn in by the community and the company itself. I love learning about them, and using them. I am by no means full of myself, but I can confidently say I know a decent amount about the Mac OS and community after being involved.

I know that their will always be jobs available in the Mac company, but I was wondering if there were a good amount of career opportunities? I could definitely see myself making a career out of this, but I am not sure what actually is available.

I am in the process of obtaining a few Apple Certifications, I know they will look excellent on my resume. I just don't know where to start, and where I could end up. I am not really looking to become filthy rich, but I do wish to not really have to worry about money anymore.

Any help, advice, or point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanced guys!

Depends on what you want to do within Apple and what job conditions you're willing to accept.

What about making a career outside of Apple, but in the Mac market? We have a number of independent software developers in this community. Ask them?

I think you need an actual Computer Science degree to be a developer with Apple (or a ton of experience), but as vmarks says - a career isn't one thing. What do you want to do?

I am not too positive yet on what I would like to do with Apple. I wouldn't mind being a System Admin for a Mac network, or even an application developer. Although I would need a lot of experience or a different degree like you said. I am just wondering what they are most in demand for.

Thanks for the reply's guys

Mac networks are few and far between, so while that would be cool, look to see if being a regular old sys admin would fit the bill.

I'd look to any career that you enjoy doing, but don't give up on the web stuff yet. Wait till you get a job and try it out.

I will stick with Web for a while longer, I haven't even really gotten a job yet for my Degree. I will test that out and see where that takes me. I may go ahead and finish my "Computer Networking Systems" Degree at ITT so I could at least have that under my belt. Thanks for the advice, I appreciate it.

I wouldn't mind doing that. I would like to have one first before I would develop for it.

On another note, does anyone know if Apple allows internship?

Thanks again for the reply's guys.

The iPhone web dev specs (something you already have a decent working knowledge of, web dev)
are published on Apple Developer Connection - sign up for a free account. You can use the Mac with iPhoney from Marketcircle: iPhoney to test your application.

One of my closest friends works at Apple in Cupertino. They most definitely do not require a Computer Science degree (at least for some of the coding positions). My friend did have a long history of writing code for the Mac OS though.

I guess I'll ask the primary question here that I think the OP is trying to get to:

- Does anyone amongst us work at Apple?
- MacBook Air M2 16GB / 512GB
- MacBook Pro 16" i9 2.4Ghz 32GB / 1TB
- MacBook Pro 15" i7 2.9Ghz 16GB / 512GB
- iMac i5 3.2Ghz 1TB
- G4 Cube 500Mhz / Shelf display unit / Museum display
