Awesome game.

Here's the problem: it's got a wonderful story and excellent voice acting, but the combat system sucks. However, you don't buy this game for the combat, you buy it for the story.

IMO, it's worth the 1200 XBL points, or you can find it at your local store cheap and use the Xbox emulator.

I never played the original "The Longest Journey", but that's available for the PC using Steam.

In case anyone is interested, you can now play this game on your Intel Mac natively using Crossover for Mac available from Codeweavers.

Not to mention my friend wrote the soundtrack:
Warner Music and Funcom to release 'Dreamfall' EP by Magnet - Two dedicated soundtrack CDs - Softpedia

Bonus trivia: He also did the cover of Dylan's Lay Lady Lay that is played during the infamous love-scene (where the spark was made) between Brad and Angelina in Mr and Mrs Smith:
Lay Lady Lay (Magnet cover - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

Leon Willett did the actual soundtrack to the game. Magnet did a few songs sprinkled throughout the game. I wouldn't say he "wrote the soundtrack".
