I knew that interview would be the end of him.

Does Pence blend in that well?
So... does the base roll with this?

It's almost as if Bannon wanted to get fired...

Depends on which base. Hearing exclamations that all thats left in the white house is democrats and globalists, which is laughable. And honestly, what influence did he really have? I think he was the one who pushed the shock and awe strategy out of the gate and that didn't work out well.
I'm more interest in what tack he tacks from here. Does he try to influence Trump through Breitbart subtly or does he go scorched earth?

How many of these people gave up cushy Congress seats, only to end up needing a real job until the next election? Trump is making political enemies. If any of these guys pass the next 17 months washing dishes for rent money, they'll be permanent enemies.

Perhaps that's not the worst thing for our party. It would force us to rebuild anew with hopefully some newer, more appealing voices.

Depending how this ends, I'm beginning to suspect endorsing Trump will be the Iraq War vote for the right.

Shapiro opines Bannon will eventually knife Trump, like he eventually does with everybody, but Bannon is sharp enough to know he needs a good excuse.

Okay... the "Trump removes Confederate statue from White House" is a pretty good gag.

The BBC head line: "Steve Bannon vows to 'go to war' for Trump agenda"
There had been suggestions Mr Trump was under renewed pressure to sack Mr Bannon following the violence at a far-right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, last weekend, when a car was driven into counter-protesters, killing a woman.
But he told the Weekly Standard that he had informed Chief of Staff John Kelly and Mr Trump on 7 August that he would announce his resignation on the 14th. The tumult over the violence in Charlottesville postponed the announcement, he said.

Shapiro would know, but its pretty obvious Bannon is chaos incarnate. Part of the reason he fit in.
