hi all,

i'm sure this question has been answered previously, but my search didn't reassure me totally.

anyway, my question is, i today received my new imac which came shipped with only 128meg ram and i'm wanting to beef that up a little. am i able to purchase a normal 256 (or 512meg) stick of 133mhz sd-ram (as i would for my g4 tower) or do i have to purchase 'laptop ram' ?

any help most appreciated.

cheers,

The "user accessible" slot is for SO DIMMs (laptop style). There is another internal slot that uses full sized DIMMs. That would by your 128MB.

ok, so it looks as though an so-dimm it is. typical, these are almost twice the price of normal ram.

fourstar: check the prices at ramseeker.com, and you might feel better. I recommend memoryX - they have the best combination of price and service and technical info that I've seen.
