Comcast paranoia

When we moved into our home, we noticed that the place had been set-up with one of Comcast's home security systems. We didn't have security as part of our Comcast account, and didn't want it, so we simply disabled the system. Of course, there was one of those "Protected by Comcast" signs in one of the front flower beds, and we just kind of ignored it.
Today, I happen to look out the window and there's a Comcast truck stopped in front and the driver is snapping a pic of my house with his phone. I couldn't figure out what he was doing, when it suddenly occurred to me that that sign was still out front. Now I'm paranoid that Comcast is going to hit me with some kind of huge surcharge for "using" a Comcast service without paying for it. I know Comcast are evil f***s, but do they pull crap like that? For a sign?

I mean, you'll still get bad advice, but at least they have more the 2 active posters this place has.

If you want my advice I would pretend it never happened. If you get any Comcast branded envelopes in the mail just put them unopened in a draw, and if they send the heavies round emigrate to Australia.

Nothing so far. Haven't gotten this month's bill yet, though.

I'm interested too. It's tempting to dismiss it as random weirdness, but we are talking Comcast here.

IANAL
That said, you did NOT use a Comcast service, so there shouldn’t be any basis for charging you.
Putting up a sign in your own yard should not constitute “using a service”, and should not trigger any contractual agreement.
Comcast might still try to charge you, but if you were to take it to court, any decent court should throw this out.
Good luck.
