I used the restore function on the ipod updater to clear all the songs that my friend had previously loaded onto it. The restore was sucessful, but it said something about connecting it to an external power supply to "flash" it. Problem is, I don't have an external power charger. Now the ipod is displaying an icon of the charger and an outlet, and it wont let me reach the menu. I tried to reset it, and it displayed the depleted battery icon, but doesnt seem to be charging, and after a while, the screen goes blank and when you press any button, the icon of the charger and the outlet appears again!

please help!

p.s, i have the usb charger, but not the external one...

I don't understand this.

Do you mean you have the cable, but not the power brick itself?

..... it won't work with the thing just plugged into the computer, it has to use an external source...... if you happen to have a car charger for the ipod, or the monster wirelessly play your ipod to your car radio thingie you can use that...other then that....you gotta go out and buy the brick....sorry
