For some reason MySpace has been especially slow compared to other sites.

Im not really sure why but the pictures take longer to load up and so does the music player.

I've tried to clear my cookies and it isn't just a browser problem. It happens on both Safari and Firefox.

If anyone can help me out I would really appreciate it. Thank-you.

Truer words were never spoken. However, it could be the site taking a [s]hit today, so patience might be helpful.

Well, in their defense, WTF are members of MacNN supposed to recommend to help the MySpace hampstor ?

We don't even know how to deal with the regular hickups at our own forums...

The turtle brings up a good point and while I'm writing here in the first place I'd just like to add: don't use myspace (oooops!!)
I could take Sean Connery in a fight... I could definitely take him.

It's always slow on my Mac no matter which browser I use. That's not to say it's always speedy on the PC I use, but it does seem faster on a more regular basis, even using Safari for Windows.

MySpace has always been slow. I normally wouldn't say this but for the love of all that is holy... get off MySpace.

All my friends are on myspace. I find it quite useful for sending pictures off after a weekend of fun or somesuch.

Not to mention all my favorite music-makers and dj-types who have awesome hour-long mixes and free downloads up the wazzzooo.

Facebook makes me want to do a faceplant out of my computer chair onto my tile.

Funny, I just finished messaging a friend on Myspace when I come to check the forum. Myspace drives me mad sometimes. Tonight it is not only going slow, but the posted times of sent and received messages are way off. I received a message at 12:57AM but it says it was received at 5:57PM yesterday. Ugh. I hate Myspace. Facebook is awesome, and more and more of my friends are moving to it every day. I just dread the day when people figure out how to customize it with clashing background images and hard to read text.

My only complaint with Facebook is that people seem to be more private with allowing non friends to view them. Sometimes when I'm bored I'll browse profiles on Myspace and read all of the interesting things happening in the lives of people I don't know. Many times I'm not even able to view profiles of people I know on Facebook until they accept me. I suppose that is safer, but darn it sometimes I want to peer into the lives of complete strangers.

I don't understand why people use MySpace and Facebook INSTEAD of email.

I would kill myself before starting to use multiple messaging platforms for different people.

Facebook was fun when it was restricted to university students and did not have apps or the newsfeed. It was like an exclusive little club that everyone heard about but only a few could actually join. Yes, the good ole days.... kinda like the NN before the poli lounge.

Maybe because Facebook is a more static way of contacting somebody for a number of people, excluding those who point their Facebook account at an email account they don't monitor?

I don't use either to communicate with someone on a daily basis, but I have some old school friends and distant relatives who I don't exchange e-mails with. Myspace is the only way they communicate with me, and I'm happy with it that way.

I committed myspace suicide recently. Every person I was "friends" with on there I knew in real life, but out of the 90something people I talked to about 4 regularly. They all have my phone number. I didn't want to be a 35 year old with a myspace page (Even if I was using it only for networking/contact purposes). Done.
