If I was posting a new thread each time I had a new episode then that would be SPAM. All I do is update this thread when I release a new episode. The stats show 130 people have viewed this thread. As you can see you're the first to complain. Plus if the moderators thought it was spam they would of pulled this thread a month ago.

Peace,

-Steve

I think posting you have a podcast is enough, and if people wish to subscribe they will... you going to post every episode in this thread?

Hey, ok by me...

I've always wondered how much of those viewed stats are just search engine or spam bots trolling the web.

I don't know, good point, but tell me this. What is the purpose of this thread if only to present each episode as they come out? That is spam isn't it? By definition. Get a blog or a podcast...

Can I ask, what software you're using to create & tag your MP3? Specifically, how are you embedding the artwork.

iTunes makes it very easy to tag, but its LAME implementation is pretty bad.
I can create an MP3 in Sound Studio, then import it into iTunes and play it side-by-side with the original (in Quicktime Player) and the difference is night and day. But I haven't found an easier way to put artwork into my podcast.

I do all of my recording in GarageBand and then export it and convert in iTunes. I do all of my tags in iTunes, including adding my artwork. This workflow works for me. I am not familiar with other software that would allow you to do tags and artwork.

iTunes makes tagging and adding artwork so easy, but its MP3 compression sounds awful. And I'm not really an audiophile or anything.

I record my podcast in Soundedit, and when I play the final MP3 in Quicktime Player it sounds fine. Then I bring it into iTunes, add artwork, lyrics, etc., copy it back to my podcast folder, open it in QT and it sounds awful. You can actually play the original and teh iTunes tagged files side by side and the difference is night and day. I must be doing something wrong.

I'll have to play around with the way I encode the show. I have listened to my podcast on everything from earbuds to expensive headphones to my home and car stereo and on studio monitors in a recording studio and thought it sounded good for a mono encoding. But if there is a way to improve the sound I'm all for it, I will have to experiment.
