It is definately a problem with the design of the upper clamshell.
I've had my screen replace twice now. The first replacement resulted spots which I put up on my homepage at
http://homepage.mac.com/alwi/PhotoAlbum10.html. To date I have had more than 14,000 hits to my homepage.
The second replacement was done today. I have no spots on my screen yet but if I press with my finger on the back of the display (the outer surface of the upper lid) ripples are seen at the exact spot as the previous spots as mapped out in the desktop picture downloadable at
http://www.macfixit.com/images/whitespots.jpg
I am sure the spots will recur. Already the area labellled 2 in the above desktop picture is a little lighter than the rest of the screen although it is not yet as obvious as it used to be.
This is not acceptable.
