Starting at 4:45 today (April 23) and going until 4:45 on April 28th.

Starting off at $750.

PowerMac G4 Cube
450 MHz G4 Processor
20 GB Hard Drive
Upgraded 32 MB Radeon Graphics Card
192 MB of RAM
Slot Load DVD-ROM
Mac OS X 10.3.3
Apple Pro Speakers With Grill Protectors
Apple Pro Mouse
Apple Pro Keyboard
All original cables (Firewire, Modem etc)
iLife '04

Mint condition G4 Cube with no crack lines that were an apparent problem with some models. It runs silently except for when the Radeon's fan kicks in.

The graphics card in the Cube was a BTO from the 16 MB card that was built in, it has really extended the useful life of this machine!

It is still a completely capable OS X machine, perfect for digital video and photography, email and word processing, as well as web design.

Thing is, most people that really want cubes already have them. Without processor/ram/video upgrades, they really aren't worth the money to people..

The 192 MB seems pretty low. I would've been maxing out the RAM before I touched the video card. But that's just me.

They were... they've kinda dipped in popularity lately, I suppose as it was said earlier that most people who want one have one.

Last one I saw, that was like yours (almost identical config), sold for $550.

The price does seem to high for a stock cube. The memory is way too low of OSX (yeah it will run if you want to call it running) and the hard drive is small compared to today's standards. I found my cube to be rather anemic with 192mb, it wasn't till I l upgraded did it feel a little more responsive.

Though I'm not an experianced ebay person, not having any feedback is possibly holding people back from bidding too. Well it does for me at least when I see things that I want there.

Good Luck

eBay auction price is up to $361--getting closer to my minimum! Still have 3 days on this auction and already 34 bids? I think thats decent.

Not to burst your bubble, but the reason you have 34 bids is because someone who doesn't know how to bid has bid multiple times hoping to get a Cube for a few bucks. Also, keep in mind that serious bidders usually snipe, so you won't know until the closing few seconds...good luck, though. If I had the cash, I'd be sniping

There is no need for you to bump this thread so often. The Marketplace is not very active, even less so on Sundays.

You know, I have no idea why there need to be so many responses to a "for auction" thread. How many responses do most Marketplace threads get? It looks like about a third of them get a big zero, and at least half get less than ten. There are only a few scattered ones that get a lot of discussion over them. Then why, oh why, does an auction link have so many replies? Because Messiahtosh insists on constantly bumping his thread and bragging at how much the Cube is currently going for. Listen, if someone is interested, they'll click the link and bid on it. If they're not, they won't. Why do you have to draw all this attention to your auction, when there are a lot of people trying to sell other stuff through the actual forums?

It wouldn't do much. He'd just register a new username like he's done twice before at AI.

When I tend to post how I feel about things threads seem to get locked, so maybe if I mention how big a f*kcnut this new guy is the same thing will happen.
Also if I were you Mess, I would not annoy people with your auction. Nothing prevents them from making up a fake ebay name and launching your auction into the tens of thousands range and making you have to relist it over and over again.

I can think of one or two reasons right off the bat that an eBay user would have to legitmately ask for a refund based upon your description.

1. Your eBay description says it is a "quiet fanless machine" - not if you have the Radeon card.
2. You say it has 256megs of ram in your eBay description. It does not.

You're way overpriced imho.

You know whats odd? How can one get maximum exposure if there is no link to the auction?

You don't really think MacNN members are so mean spirited that they would pump up your auction just to screw with you, do you?

It was $750 as far as I know. I checked hours before the end and it was at $749.

Overpriced, if you ask me. It's basically stock, with only slightly more RAM and slightly better graphics. Upgrades are worth no more than $100 really.

If I remeber correctly the $750 was his starting price with a reserve. He changed that real quick when people began telling him the price was too high. This guy pi$$ed me off real early by saying that since he had been here for 5 years it was an unwritten rule that he get special treatment. He was trying to post his ad in the PowerMac section. Give me a break. Also, you price is way to high.
