Hello,
I'm in the market for an iMac for my mother. I've noticed b&h photos selling an iMac at 1069, which I guess is last year's model, and another model which is 1149, which looks like this year's model and 50$ off the AppleStore's price. I thought that no one was allowed to undercut the Apple Store - at least that's how I remember it. Has anyone taken these deals up? Can anyone make any suggestions which one to go for? Thanks.

Sorry if this has already been in a thread, but the macNN Search facility never works for me.

This hasn't been the case since 1993.

No one is able to significantly undercut the Apple Store - the resellers' margin at regular price is probably around or under 10%.

So if a brick-and-mortar store is knocking 50 dollars off a 1200-dollar machine, he's not actually making any money on the deal.
