What you need to protect your screen from?

This is a bit more expensive... but different.
I do have a "Sleevz" for my PowerBook, and am happy with that.

i am sorry to offend any purists but it is for a dell widescreen monitor. I want something to protect my monitor when i am taking it from my dorm home, or to lan parties.

INFIDEL!
I actually assumed you wanted to just keep off the dust in a stylin' way. I don't think either one is going to offer the protection you need.
The box it came in would not only be the cheapest, but likely the best solution short of something like a Pelican case.
Something equivalent to the screensaverz but cheaper would be any appropriately sized piece of cloth, say a bed sheet. If you want more protection than the Screensaverz, use thicker cloth, like a blanket or something.
Make sure it's a clean blanket or sheet though, I remember how things used to get in the dorm.

depends on where ur monitor is placed...
in places which are near to sources of dust (i.e. the window) it's advisable.
But if ur monitor is placed against the wall (or near one) there isn't much of a need... but then again it depends... if u travel often... u would like to keep dust off it...
my printer which is near the window gets dusty after one week and I got to keep cleaning it. And I mean visible dust. Now that I shifted it towards my wall, it doesn't get as dusty as easily.
so it seems like WINDOWS ARE EVIL (pun intended)
