I have just set up my PB to recieve faxes. Though I would save the cosy of a fax machine. However I read something on a post yesterday which confused me.

When I'm hooked up to my broadband connection at the office ( not wirelessly) can the fax travel through the broadband line directly into my computer?

Or do I have to plug the phoneline into the PB whenever I know a fax is coming or run an extention from the main phone plug to the PB?

You need to hook up the phone line to the PB. A way around it would be using an online fax service.
