Hi,

I was considering upgrading my MacBook Pro's Hard Drive and was wondering if the Sudden Motion Sensor protection of the current drive will still operate on a new drive.

hmmm... dunno about that one. it ws my understanding that it works only once.
then after that it no longer functions. i could be wrong though...
plus there is no way for you to know if it has been used.

Of course it will work. The SMS is on the main logic board, not on the drive itself. Some drives have their own shock protection, but the SMS is different.
