More scare tactics. It's certainly possible, given that we have porous borders, and that only 5% of inbound container freight gets checked, and that DHS is consistently underfunded, despite what Bush & Co. are prattling on about how they're doing everything they can. The facts remain, however, that in the six years since 9/11, millions have died from any of a number of causes other than terrorism. Of course that won't stop the irrational from jumping up and down and once again blathering "I told you so."
Why is there always money for war, but none for education?

Haven't we heard these "terror warnings" before yet nothing even materialized? It's almost like every single "terror cell" that has been "busted" turned out to be a group of innocent Muslim men who never planned on ever committing any terrorist act in the United States.

Detroit Sleeper Cell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Buffalo Six - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And then of course there's Jose Padilla who as an American citizen was arrested in 2002 on American soil and it took the government 4 years to actually charge him with anything.

Al-Qaida has become a blanket term to cover anything that can be used to scare the public.
I like my water with hops, malt, hops, yeast, and hops.

Be afraid! You can't 100% stop crazies from wreaking havoc (although you can stop provoking them). The fact is that domestic terrorism will never be a real threat to the US, certainly never in the range of lethality of, say, automobiles. Probably it will never compete with swimming pools in terms of number of Americans killed. We just need to see it in perspective.

That thought has entered my mind more than once, and I wouldn't put something past this administration.

Another reason to get that mine field installed between the Mexican border and the US. Just kidding.

Fence.
