Gary Coleman, the child actor who starred in the TV show Diff'rent Strokes has died, CNN and MSNBC reports. He was 42.
Update at 2:52 p.m. ET: The Associated Press reports that Coleman suffered the hemorrhage Wednesday at his Santaquin home, 55 miles south of Salt Lake City.
The actor was admitted to the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center and was conscious and lucid until midday Thursday, when his condition worsened and he slipped into unconsciousness. Coleman was then placed on life support, the AP says.

Well, at least we won't be reading about his embarrassing escapades anymore. I guess Art Linkletter needed a kid to interview in Heaven.

It's sad, but I'm happy that Gary is at peace. Things were getting especially tough for the little guy these last few years.
Well it's that time to say. . . Gary Coleman = 1 of 3; Dennis Hopper = 2 of 3. Who completes the celebrity death triplet? I'm concerned Brett Michaels may be next.

If the "last few years" means the second different strokes went off the air in the 80's.
Actually, I'm pretty sure it had it rough back then too.

The advent of the Internet added a new development in public mourning sickness that was displayed following the murder of American teenager Anna Svidersky in Vancouver, Washington. Anna was murdered while working at a McDonald's restaurant by schizophrenic sex offender David Barton Sullivan. News of her death quickly spread worldwide, initially through the website MySpace, where she had a personal page, and then through other similar sites. This created an effect of mass grief and mourning for her around the world mostly from people who had previously known nothing about her.[4]
In Britain, The Guardian newspaper compared the widespread expression of grief by strangers to that seen after the death of Princess Diana. The paper cited the 2004 Civitas think-tank, which described such grief as "mourning sickness", related to people's own emotional needs, rather than any real rapport with the deceased.[4]
[edit]Criticism
Some critics have described the public displays of mourning as "phony" and more for the benefit of the people grieving than for the victims, families or individuals that they are grieving for.[5].

i just have my doubts about the seriousness of the relationship between the deceased and the people who take part on online obituaries. It makes me wonder about how they would deal with a real and close death, like within their family.
wow, something happened !
