Does anybody believe that it would be likely (or even possible) for a company to produce a G4 upgrade that would fit in the L2 Cache Slot of a Power Mac 6500, similar to the G3 upgrades for it?

It is certainly possible. The question would be, is is worth it?

It isn't worth it. A G3 upgrade makes the system unstable.

Beyond this, although the G3 processor is fast, the other components of your 6500 are not. Unless you're willing to upgrade other parts of your computer (most notably the hard disk), your computer will still stall.
