I have a big problem: I am using a MacPro with 4 drives. All are HFS+ formatted, besides my root drive, which has a Windows partition. Booting Windows 7 (Bootcamp with newest Windows 7 drivers) I am using MacDrive 8 (newest version). I can access all drives just fine and working with read/write data to the hard drives is perfect. Now comes the tricky part: I have several computers in my home network (iMac, MacBookPro, Netbook with Windows 7 only, Internet-PC Windows Vista only) because we gave a small office here. No matter what I am trying, I cannot access the HFS+ drives on my Bootcamp MacPro from any other computer in the network (no rights blabla…). Doing the same thing with my iMac or my MacBookPro (Bootcamp) is working just fine. I tried all tips on the internet regarding the setup of a Windows network, but nothing works. I am wondering, if it has something to do with MacDrive and the HFS+ drives, because I don’t have the panel “Security”, when I open a drive (rightclick) in the Explorer.

Any help accessing these HFS+ drives from other machines in my network would be greatly appreciated.

PS: Networking with Mac OS X on my MacPro works just fine in my network.

You need to disable Simple Sharing. Right click on a folder, go to the Views tab, and uncheck Simple Sharing.

You should now have the Security tab.

"Simple Sharing" is simply awful. It breaks more than it fixes, it's completely insecure, and it goofs up so many other things that I'd like to physically hurt the guy that came up with it. Not that I have strong feelings about it, mind you. Do what olePigeon says and you'll be much happier.

Thanks for your help, guys.
But I disabled simple sharing long before. And on my ntfs drives, I got the advanced tab. Only the hfs discs don't! Is there a way to alter the security options on a hfs drive on a windows machine using macdrive? That is the question.

Thought I should share what I did to fix this problem:

Problem: I was unable to share a folder in my users directory on a macdrive partition with snow leopard installed on that partition.

My solution: I moved the files to a folder with the same name in the root of the drive & then shared it successfully.
