Broke 3 bones, including a clean break of the fibula, and tore a ligament, to boot. I got the BIG bottle of Percocet.

Was this caused by restricted movement due to the iPhone 6+ in your front pocket?

I'm not familiar with US football. Is Go 'pher hole an acceptable play?

FA, in the US, as opposed to Australia, the critters try to kill us more subtly. Instead of biting ankles with poisonous fangs, biting arteries with giant teeth, or just biting our sandwiches, they dig holes in the yard and see how hilariously we trip and fall. Then, they post the video to Youtube.*

Lemme get this straight... you worry about little holes in the US?
Ever seen the size of a wombat hole? Or an abandoned mine? Sheeeit, I bought a block of land on an old bombing range guaranteed not to explode to a depth of 2 feet!

It was nearly the size of a wombat hole, the opening was hidden by weeds.

I was told that's relatively common with ankle breaks, but I have no idea since I've never broken a bone before.
What I do know is that I'm pretty high right now and I like these 10mg Percocets a lot.

I tried! I got up and took 4-5 steps then collapsed in a heap. People 10m away say they heard the bone snap but I didn't. It was probably adrenaline. The pain wasn't too bad until we got about half way to the ER then I thought, "this hurts like a sonuvabitch".

That looks painful to me. How long with your foot up? Will you be getting a cast?
I recommend that you do not watch documentaries all day like I did for 2 weeks when I had a vein removed from my leg. Get those tablets/eReaders/iPads charged up with some good books.

Those of you squeamed out about the photo obviously do not work for a medical publication. That was tame, would not make our Annual Calendar of Injuries, Abcesses, and Parasites.
Get well, Shaddim!

Thanks, right now it's in a temp cast and later this week I'm going to need surgery to set the bones with pins. I'll probably have to wear a boot of some type.

Interestingly enough my legs look the same way. Not the break thank goodness. But totally hairless from about mid-calf on down. I'm talking smooth as a baby's butt! My dad is the same way. Whereas my son is not. Now I can't recall ever having hair on the lower portion of my calves. But being a private school kid starting in the 8th grade ... I've worn dress socks nearly every day since I was 13 years old. My son OTOH only wears ankle socks. So is it the socks? Is it genetics? Or a combination of both? Not really sure. My wife thinks it's pretty funny though!

I've seen a kid with his face blown off and a crispy guy who burned to death (but didn't know he was dead yet). In person.
Ankle break? Pfft! A walk in the park. A hobble... a hobble in the park.

No pic this morning...I haven't even looked in a mirror yet.
Good news: Shaddim's injury should heal well. Bad news: probably he'll be off that foot for quite some time. Yowch!

1) I like the shallow depth-of-field on that pic.
2) Can't explain it, you look very "British" in that pic for some reason.

Didn't even notice the blurriness of the shirt until you pointed it out. It's definitely there. But overall it's a cool shot!

Not sure about British. I was thinking you wouldn't look out of place on one of those Nordic police or political dramas.

Wow, all that response from my photo. I never noticed the blurred shirt before now either. Remind me to wear a solid color next time. :-)
Are one of these two more satisfying? (From the same shoot)

You mean her date needs a shave. Sasquatch lookin' mother****er.
She was in fact, just coiffed. Fun fact: her "pet stylist" was on Groomer Has It. Like Survivor, but for groomers. He was such a diva he got voted off the island on the first episode. He is really good though.
