I'm going to install 10.2. I want to do a clean install. Any suggestions for backing-up everything so it will be easy to get it all back to normal (Mail preferences, etc.) ?

And is there an easier way to have all programs backed-up so I don't have install them all again?

Also, I have a copy of Virtual PC. Is there anything I should know about backing that up?

Thanks.

I think that all documents and app prefs are saved if you backup your user folder. So basically, re-install all apps and then copy your user folder.
Anyone else know if there is any other folders to backup? Library?

If' you've got a Firewire drive, I'd suggest copying your entire 10.1 install to it with Carbon Copy Cloner. That way, if your 10.2 install should go wrong for any reason, you can erase it and copy the install of 10.1 back from the firewire drive.

I suggest the "archive and install" option for upgrading to 10.2. It'll keep all your third-party apps, and all your users and user prefs. Worked great for me.
