Hello! I have my new ADSL connection, then I'm interested in start with distributed computing (with Team MacNN ideally).

I like Ubero and RC5 never SETI@Home, but I think Porivo is an interesting option. Somebody knows about Porivo and a Mac OS X peer?

Go to www.porivo.com. It doesn't mention Mac platform, only Windows, Linux and Unix, but I think that port the PEER from Unix wouldn't be hard...

Thank you very much.
Best regards from Colombia!

Well, the only way it's going to happen is if you have source code availalble. I can't find anything at the website about that software at all, just a service called "peerReview" or something. Can you provide a link to the software itself?

Hi, Xeo!

No, I only was navigating the site (searching for distributed computing apps) and I thank it is a great service for companies and a good choice for Mac users...

I think somebody could try to contact the Porivo people for the source code... if only the Linux or Unix app were sufficient...

Thanks again!
Best regards from Colombia!

Since you're the one that's so interested, perhaps YOU should contact them?

Hi, Angus_D!

Good idea, but...

1) I'm not developer, then if they gave me the code, I couldn't do nothing with it.

2) My English is not very good, then probably I couldn't convince them easily!

But I think that the Mac OS X port wouldn't be hard...

Regards and happy 2003!
Best regards from Colombia!
