i very much doubt there have ever been any real ufos here.

a conspiracy theory i find much more compelling is the whole "small group (i.e. illuminati or whatever) basically controls everything". at least that kinda makes sense, when you think about human attributes (greed, etc)

but, I quite frankly dont care if its true or not. humanity is fucked. if I can make it through life without being stabbed, I will consider myself successful (i hate knives).

people that don't believe in the possibility of ufo's really can't believe humans exist. in my opinion anyways.

you can't think we are the only planet with life can you? if it happened here, there are billions of similar places it could easily happen.

no, i believe there's probably lots of other life out there... but based on what we know about physics (speed of light and so on) I very much doubt we've ever been visited.

I think UFOs exist, that is Unidentified Flying Objects. Now are they space aliens flying to this planet to observe us? I doubt it. IMHO of course.

Who's behind UFO coverups? How about the crackpots that make them up in the first place.

Coverup? There isn't even any good documentation to cover up. All the government is doing is giving these crackpots enough rope to hang themselves with in the press. Works every time.

For there to be a cover-up, there has to be an actual UFO. Since I strongly doubt that there's been any "visitors", I don't see room for a cover-up of such "visitors".

I blame the UFO's. All they have to do is land in the middle of town, open the hatch, and introduce themselves, but they never do. They always operate in secret. It's frustrating. The bastards.

The people to blame for UFO coverups are those who keep perpetuating the belief that there are UFO coverups.

Any civilization sufficiently advanced to make the trip between star systems would be:

1) able to to keep surveillance without us detecting them or with only one or two mistakes, certainly not the thousands if even 1% of UFO reports are legit.

2) able to make contact with the general populace without the intervention of the local governments if they so desired.

3) more interested in the Oort Cloud, the Kuiper Belt (both cometary, both huge sources of water without the need to fight a planet's gravitation), and the Asteroid belt (raw materials for new colonies) than Earth. Earth may warrant their equivalent of archaeological/sociological/biological research, but certainly not a raw material source.

Another interesting idea is that UFO's are not extraterrestrial life forms, rather us (humans) from the future traveling BACK in time a la Sphere. *eyebrows* *eyebrows* *eyebrows*

That will be the year Calgary brings home the cup. For good. By then Hell will have frozen over, and all the hockey players and managers and most fans can go play hockey down there.

I love how foolish mush-brained types often rationalise supposed UFO sightings by saying "How can you be so arrogant to believe that we are the only intelligent life in the universe?". My answer is always "I'm not, but how can you be so arrogant to think that any other intelligent lifeforms would want to come and visit us?"

I'm prepared to believe that there are intelligent beings from Greenland. Yet that doesnt mean they're going to come to my house does it? Or do I need to put some seal in the fridge?

Haha. I have a similar viewpoint. I think humanity, a technological civilization, will only have a total existence as a modern society for around 20 thousand years at the very most, Things aren't looking bright, IMO. Now, 20 thousand years is only a flash in the pan of the 14 billion year old (approx) Universe. A Flash in the Pan. What intelligent person would believe that two flashes would evolve during the same small window? Also, what makes an intelligent person think that these two hypothetical societies would ever be close enough to communicate, let alone travel to each other? It is possible, but the probablity is very....very slim.

I think there is life out there in the universe right now, most likely water-bound creatures, and others, and they are probably not a lot stranger than most of the animals on earth. I think the natural state of wildlife is the norm throughout the universe and human "intelligence" is just a curse that stops us from enjoying the gift of life.

Ask Michael Jackson where he came from.

Note that his signature move is also called the "Moonwalk" which suggests that he's also from outer space somewhere.
