Hello! There's an opensource project at
http://www.opensource.apple.com/cgi-...vs/AppleBt8xx/

which allows any 'ol TV tuner card built using the Bt8xx chipsets to work under OS X. It seems to work for a number of users (I don't have a card to try it out with yet myself), but it needs work still.

With the number of users bemoaning the lack of TV cards for the Mac, this is an excellent opportunity. If you can, please chip in!

The chipsets in question apparently include most WinTV cards, btw.

Well, yeah. You gotta be registered with Apple's Darwin thingy. It's free, though.

Almost looks like GoMac; that's not out for OS X, is it?

Um..I have the PROTV card and would like to get SOME use out of it in X, but formac has, of course, left its customers out in the cold..

I registered on the apple opensource thing, and can see the code for shagadelic telly when you click 'download' in the version area, but what do you do with it then? Does it need to be compiled? Using what? Please don't pick on me, but Im not a linux geek so Im not that familiar.
