Lightweight, quiet, good looking and excellent batterylife.

Just sold my Powerbook and picked up an iBook 700. This was exactly what I was looking for! Ha!

Thanks guys!

Standard 128 MB for now, but another 256 MB should arrive tomorrow. I was thinking about going for 640 but I'm not going to do anything heavier with this machine, so 384 will do just fine methinks. Just a minute ago I also ordered the Second Skin folder made by Tucano, so I can throw the iBook in my bag without worrying about scratches and such. Very nice.

Hi,

How do you find the second skin? Does it protect the laptop as well as a SFBAGS sleeve?

Regards

Congrats mate, you won't be disappointed with the iBook. I've owned several of them & have never been happier.

I just got an 12" iBook 700 less than a month ago, 384mb RAM, an upgraded 5400 40GB HD, w/a 16x Sony combo dvd/cdrw combo drive. After a few months away from the Mac, I must say that this thing (running OSX full-time) just may be the best damn computer I've owned...yet. Don't play games on it (I've kept my PeeCee for that), so the 16mb Radeon Mobility is not a liability...
