Just noticed that the original iMac is now dead.

There is no link on the main apple store pages, and when you go into the UK education store and try to order one is says that the item is 'currently unavailable' so I would think they will be taking it off there soon too.

Ahh well.. I've still got my little green iMac, and will probably keep it as a MP3 server when I upgrade next year, but I suppose they had to stop selling them sometime. Probbably ran out of processors.

RIP...

I'm glad its gone. Having two computers with the same name was silly. and the price/spec ratio was absurd.

I love that it got a full article in the Washington Post. I'm pretty sure the Dell I have at work won't get any kind of eulogy...

It's too bad, I really liked that little guy. If they could price it properly I still think there would be a place for it.

If I could grab a brand new one with a CD-RW right now I would, it would make a cool little kitchen computer for the new house.

Yes, my Dalmatiner still works like a charm, but it got 1Gb ram to play with, I guess that helps a little.

Do you have a link, if the article is available online...

Great design; it's amazing how long it lasted. I very much liked my original Bondi iMac and its Indigo successor.

I like the times when you can choose the colour of the iMac... not sure how long we have to wait before you have the choice you can choose the colour of your Mac again

About time... 15" CRT and G3 processor just isn't up to date anymore. May it rest in pieces.

I have an Indigo iMac, and I am proud to say she's doing just fine... 500Mhz/G3. I figured that it wold take about $2000 to get a better iMac--something I am not ready for yet--the iBook comes up next.

IMacs (originals) aren't dead yet--theyll be around for a while yet. Good bedroom comupters---HEY What the hell is a bedroom computer anyway?

LOL
