I'm having serious trouble with OS X and I can't figure out what the problem is.

It all started when I tried to install some updates last week. Quicktime, Keynote, iSync, bluetooth, etc. My computer froze during the install and now ...

When I boot I get past the grey screen with the apple and a blue screen appears.
The boot up stalls there.

I've tried using single user mode to run fsck, and move preferences that apple recommends in a knowlage base document. I've tried Norton Utilities to no avail. I've moved everything out of \library\startup. No luck!
Verbose mode readouts fly by too quick to read if anything is failing.

I don't have classic installed, but I can access my disk via the norton boot CD.

Any Ideas ????

By the way I have a Pismo.

Have you made any other changes to your system lately? New hardware or system hacks?

Well, looks like you'll have to reinstall OSX. I had the same problem: The QuickTime 6.2 installer did crash during installation (WindowServer got stuck). So I did a hard reset and guess what? All my partitions went to nirvana. No disk repair utility was able to fix the harddrive. Apple better fixes this installer issue, since it seems to be a serious one (and to prevent that I'm going to switch the platform).
