is there any possibility that iChat will also be able to send messages to people on the MSN Messenger Network instead of just the AIM network?

Yep you can do that..
Hold Shift + Apple and type QMSN
Open iChat Preferences and you should see a popup that allow you to change to MSN
Have fun

Huh? Command + Shift + q is the log out command?!
Where do you type QMSN after pushing Command and Shift?

He was talking in jest. And exasperation I presume, with the original poster. A way to say RTFM.
mackid97140: Go to apple.com/ichat for all the info you'll ever need. iChat only works on AIM.

As far as i knew, i only worked with aim, i'm just wondering if it will ever go to MSN as well. i like iChat better than MSN messenger but all my friends are on MSN. Just wondering if there is any way that that is going to change.

iChat AV now works with some ICQ clients as well. This is a nice side effect of the ICQ/AOL deal. But MSN is still not available.

Yes I thought that must be the case, but better to look dumb and ask than to miss out on a useful trick

Well, I've got the exact same problem. EVERYBODY I know uses MSN, so iChat is pretty useless for me... Until iChat is able to communicate with MSN I have to stick with Proteus....
