Long time ago I followed these instructions to set up CUPS in order to be able to send printing jobs to the printers connected to the Windows machines on my network. It has worked as a charm and I can print from every application... except Adobe Reader. Has anybody else the same problem?
I thought that upgrading to version 6 would solve the problem, but it has not.
(When I look at the jobs-log I see that the jobs sent from Adobe Reader are always cancelled.)

Oh no, I just found out another application from which I can not print via CUPS: Mathematica 4.2.
Has anybody else tried to print Mathematica documents via CUPS?
Maybe Mathematica 5 fixes this problem?

Have you tried using CUPS via GimpPrint? It might fix your problem.

Thank you for the advice! After reading the FAQ's in Gimp-Print's web page I learned that some applications (mostly Carbon apps) need the ESP Ghostscript component in ordr to be able to print via CUPS.
I found this component in Gimp-Print's web page and installed it to see if that solved the problem. Apparently it did, so in fact I did not have to go all the way to install the gimp-print software. The EPS Ghostscript alone solved the problem; so far so good.
