Heh. My 10GB is almost filled. Only 1.1GB more to go. I can't wait until I am forced to upgrade. Hopefully this spring.

Looks like they dropped the 15GB and replaced it with the 20GB at the same price point. Same with 30->40GB. Cool.
And yeah, more crap I cant afford!

I may be one of the few people who could actually use a 40GB iPod, but I can't justify replacing my almost-brand-new 30GB... Ah well. Maybe when they hit 60GB.

And that one the same day when I received my new Sony MZ-E10 MD-player. I don't need and iPod which is about 3 times as heavy .
But the color is interesting, I just knew they where switching to that kind of look. (website)

I know what you mean. I've sold up from the 10 to a 20 to a 30. This time, I may wait a bit for the 80s.

You sure about this? The Sony is lighter than a single CD in it's case? Somehow I doubt that.

its really small. its also a minidisc player. doesnt really hold a candle functionality wise to an ipod.

...and it doesn't have Solitare. Any MP3 player that doesn't have Solitare doesn't deserve to be on the market.

You just keep telling yourself that... I've had several MD players ever since they came out, and until the iPod (and similar players) they were probably the best option out there (sooo much better than just using a CD walkman). But they just seem so old fashioned now. 80 minutes of music at a time? How quaint!

Does this mean that if my 15GB iPod messes up, it gets replaced by a 20GB iPod?

Nope, I did a lot of research. I wanted to replace my dieing Sony MZ-R90 with either a Sony MZ-E10 or a 15GB iPod. It became the MD, because for me portability is uberimportant and the iPod is just FAT compared to the MZ-E10. And a second most important thing: battery life. On the iPod . And I don't need to have al my music with me at once (anyway even a 40GB iPod wouldn't fit my collection). 80 minutes is just fine (I don't use MDLP).Oh and here in europe: 320 for the highest end MD-player compared to 500 for the 15GB iPod... it matters a lot . But hey, the iPod is a fantastic device itself, I almost bought one but for me it's MiniDisc. It's a choice.
EDIT: mmm a lot of smileys.

That's why it isn't an MP3 player

I'm sorry, but a MD player with 400MDs is not as portable as 1 iPod with all your music in it Still, whatever floats your boat

The worst thing about these updates is that it has occured on a MONDAY.. and not a TUESDAY as usually expected! Messes up the predictability yet again.

They're saving PowerBook updates for Tuesday.
Too bad you can't get an iPod in a particular color... custom order it from the apple Store... oh well..
