I installed the demo from the MacAddict CD (I don't think that should make a difference) and when I double click on the UT icon it starts launching but then stops. Basically, you double click, icon shows up in the dock, then disappears less than a second afterwards. Is this a common problem? I tried deleting the preferences file in the Library. My FP iMac launches UT fine. Help would be appreciated.

Well, it launched fine on my 12" but it was horrible to play, so don't sweat it. You're not missing out on much.

Cheers,
Nick.

Your screen is not big enough. In your Library/UT Prefs or whatever, there is a .ini file. In this if you change the 1280 number to 1024 and the 1024 number to 768 it will launch. It just was looking for a bigger monitor than you had.
and yes, it ain't as fun on a PB as on a DT...... oh well - I still like my PB.

The one on the Mac Addict CD is fooked. Download the demo and it'll most likely work. I tried using the one from the CD, didn't work on any computers my brother or I own.

Well, this is very sad, folks. In a couple of ways.
First, I've a 12" 1GHz on order, and it's strange (hopefully untrue) that that UT2K3 doesn't run very well (or supposedly, at all) on this machine. It runs great on my 1GHz iMac. Pretty damn near flawlessly, with everything turned up. However, more sad is the fact I'm just not really enjoying these games anymore. First Person Shooter genre is just...so dull. I'm getting old, I think. I've officially moved on from a prolonged adolescence.
Just sharing my dilemma with you kind folks.
*snif*
Well, back to work (that I love).

I just read in Mac Home mag that to run Unreal Tourn 2003 you need at least to be operating with osx 10.2.6 or better.
