Well, it's not that Finder is not in the Dock, actually, but rather that the small black "triangle" is gone.

This sounds like a "minor" trouble, but...

Now if I want to switch between apps using COMMAND+TAB, I cannot choose Finder!!!

If I re-launch Finder, then all is fine. But every time I log in... the problem is there...
I've tried deleting pref files, but it has come back...

This trouble continues. After updating to 10.2.8 on the restart all was fine. But then after a logout the problem came back...

If I CONTROL click on the Finder icon it tells "Application is not running" but there is a Finder window open and I can navigate there and so on... I don't get it! Why doesn't Dock recognize that Finder is running as it should on login... I've tried multiple time deleting prefs and repairing permissions... but...

Anyone had this?

Nope, my ClearDock is up to date.

It's not that the "triangle" is "missing" It's that the Dock tells "Finder is not running" but it is. What I'm saying is that it's not a "cosmetic" bug.

What troubles me is that sometimes it's OK, sometimes logging on, Finder "plays dead" -- It's open, you can see the windows, you can use it, but Dock doesn't recognise it. OPTION-TAB doesn't recognise it...
