Hello folks,

I've finally gotten my nerve up to upgrade to OS X but like most need to boost my RAM in order to take advantage of all that it offers. My question is this. Aside from the stuff they sell at the Apple Store, is there any RAM upgrade that can be relied on for compatability with OS X. I always thought that Crucial Memory was a class act but if anyone has any other suggestions I'd appreciate it.

I'm using a 400mHZ G4 with 128megs of generic RAM. I want't to drop anther 256megs minimum in there but have read about horror stories with OS X freezing our refusing to boot at all.

Anyone care to steer me in the right direction?

Thank You

GPau

gpau-

I've liked the price, products and service at transintl.com. Crucial is also good in my experience.

RamJet is fast, friendly and reliable. And they stand behind their RAM. They were one of the vendors who gave free replacements to customers who got done in by the recent firmware update fiasco.

Thanks for the advice folks. I think I'll check out RamJet. I can't wait to upgrade to OS X. I guess people will be hearing more from me in the next couple of weeks.

Cheers.

Richard, when you say no problems do you mean "no problems with OS X?"

I haven't read of any problems with Mac OS X and different RAM. If it works in a Mac it works with OS X. You may want to search the PowerMac forum. RAM comes up at least once a week and there are many posts about different RAM dealers.
