I've been trying to fix one of my PowerMac G4 for the past two days now. I'm pretty sure that there's something messed up with it's HD (I've tried to rezero the unit, but it fails, initialized, fails, etc.), but when I run AHT, it says that everything is fine. Is there something that could affect the performance of this drive that AHT doesn't check for?

^Thanks to sealobo

if it fails while formating it is probably screwed. Trash it and get a new one.
