Haha, definitely what I would want to hear from Gates concerning
security.

That's good news, because it wouldn't be feasible to write perfect code for something like an desktop OS.

EVERYONE SHOULD READ THIS ARTICLE

Basically, nobody can write perfect code. Desktop OS systems are usually somewhere between SEI level 1 and SEI level two which means it's chaotic to slightly less then chaotic.

FYI, it's impossible to write perfect code for just about anything! OS X, Linux and Windows are all is the chaotic area of programing. Level 1, maybe Level 2,

This is the most bug free program known. http://www.fastcompany.com/online/06/writestuff.html

It's for the space shuttle, it's never crashed, it's never needed a reboot, yet it has had 17 known errors.

interesting article, it reinforces my thought that software is in a perpetual beta state.

I love how Gates says that it's the Firewall's problem and that they don't need to do sh*t in fixing Windows.
