I've just switched to mac and was really happy for the first couple of days. Then I put Panther on and my PB keeps locking up on start up or waking. It's really hot after it"s been sleeping and I just don't now whether it's a software or hardware thing. Please help, the person who helped installed panther a couple of days ago has gone away for 2 months and I am still pretty mac naive.

Call Apple support. Could be a bunch of things.

Mmm thanks, I think it's because I tried to update 10.2 rather than a clean install of panther. I just tried to restart it 8 times and it came up with an error saying CPU Failure. I'll give your advice a try.

the other thing Panther really brings out in my experience is bad RAM.

Either way, take it to an Apple shop. That kind of behaviour is not acceptable.
