It's been declared illegal in the UK, however the last time I was there (a couple of months ago) Procomm on Tottenham Court Road had some.
I bought mine on eBay from someone in the US. You need to download the extra files from the Griffin Technology website to be able to find a clear frequency. I'm using 87.5 atm and that seems pretty clear.

Technically illegal. But the chances of ever being caught/punished for using one are incredibly slim. This law is an age old, and didnt take into consideration low powered transmitting devices that would appear in years to come. and no one can be arsed to amend the law either. really, i would not worry about it.
So your only problem, is where you will get one from..

Slightly old thread, but wanted to let folk in the UK know where you can buy the iTrip with ease. I just got mine (it rocks big time) and it came with a free charger for the car. You can find it and loads of other iPod gear at:
http://everything-ipod.co.uk/
They shipped it and I received it next day delivery. Great service.
Cheers!
