I am using Retrospect 6 to back-up my system to DVD-R using an internal SuperDrive. I used this set-up without difficulty in Retrospect 5.

Many of my attempted back-up just hang up. Retrospect stops making progress on the back-up (I have let it go overnight without progressing). Activity Monitor indicates Retrospect is chewing up CPU cycles. The Retrospect GUI remains responsive - no spinning beachball, I can move the window. If I choose to stop the back-up, the GUI responds, but the back-up never stops (have let that go overnight, too).

The only way to unhang Retrospect is a "Force Quit". The result: a DVD coaster.

Anybody have a similar problem? Any suggestions?
Don

Dantz just posted a driver update that promises better compatibility with DVDs and improved custom configuration with DVD drives. Maybe this will help.
