It's been hovering around $450 ... is now the optimum time to buy :-)

That's cheap, but... once the Powerbook G5 rolls around, I'll be changing Powerbooks again, which means... they most likely won't be using 2700 anymore, so... too late for me to buy it when I'll only be using it for the next few months. But for others though, might be a good time to pick one up. Even though I would still wait until they hit around $200

Just to let you know, www.shop.kingston.com has 25% off all notebook memory right now, and the 1gb PC2700 is at $338 shipped. I'm on the fence about whether I need a whole gig or not, I have 512 as it is and it runs pretty good. Still, that price is tempting!

To an offer an opinion for which you didn't ask, buy that 1GB stick. In OSX, the difference between 512MB and 1.5GB (or 1.25GB if your config is 2x256) is anvil-dropping-on-the-head apparent in system response.

It'll be worth every penny (and that is a good price).

i will add a response here ...

putting a 1GB stick in helps out tremendously!

of course, it depends on what you do, but ... in the words of the apartment owner guy from the Guy Ritchie movie lock, stock and two smoking barrels ... 'it's cheap' ... (pretty sure it was that and not snatch, ... man, i need to get it out and watch it again)

Best thing I did when I bought my 1GHz Ti PB was get the max 1gig RAM. Apple had a deal at the time...

Now I am wondering if I should buy the Apple 1 gig config on a new G5 (Next rev 2.5GHz?) and then buy more RAM elsewhere...

Hmm, maybe I will go for the 1 gig stick. That is a pretty good price, and would probably be all the ram I'd ever need, or at least until my next Mac!
