My impressions of a mac by bob the cannibal

well the first thing i was surprised by was the speed i can have as many apps as i want open and still i feel like there is more power in reserve. i have come over from using pcs for all my life and on my pc (xp2700, 512mb pc400, 80gb 7200rpm 8mb cache hard drive etc, etc, etc) once i hit bout 5 - 10 apps depending on what they are i notice a complete lack of power even had that problem when i had 1gig of ram which ended dying on me i noticed a lack of power. But even with my low end mac i can have as multiple large apps open at once and as said before still have at least the feel of more power in reserve.

So far my experience has been amazing my mac has not crashed once and i have only had to restart after upgrading software. the os looks amazing and is extremely simple to the point where im thinking that there must be an advanced mode that i need to locate the button for.

My only annoyance is the networking. When i connect to my pc to transfer my files across i can see and copy files great but if i move a new file into the folder i have shared on my pc i cant see the file, all i can see are the old files. So i shared a new folder and soon found out that i could not see the new folder only the old folder.
And this keeps happening even when i close down the finder window and start a new one i have the same problem and it continues even when i try to unmount the connection which does not seem to work as the computer icon in the network window is still blue which im pretty sure means there is a mounted connection as all the other networked computers icons show up as grey.

well so far except for networking my mac experience has been great. I hope someone can maybe help me out with this problem even thoe it has been posted in the wrong section of this forum.

cheers everyone.
