Wow! Cool page Adam Betts. Glad you have an option to turn off some of the heavy stuff (it slowed the scrolling a lot on my G3).
I have a blog too which I update quite frequently. Thought it's in Norwegian, but there is an will be a few Mac OS X tips among my personal rambling so it could be in interest for some people. Lol. My blog is three clicks away starting from the link in my signature..

How does Explorer for Windows handle the PNGs?

BTW, Explorer for X messes up your toolbar. But I don't think that matters anymore since MS is killing it anyway.

Very nice job. That's what I hope to be able to do by the time I graduate.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone. I'll be sure to make the site worth it for everyone's time.

About CSS, I can't take credits from it because Jan Van Boghout of MacRabbit and CSSEdit did a fantastic job coding the site completely in CSS without tables. Too bad that some of non-standard browsers can't display latest sites properly without hacks and workarounds I'll ask some IE experts to see if they know any workaround to some of the current problems in AOAB.

olePigeon, Jan used a hack called sleight hack which will enable png transparency on IE Windows. I'm not sure how reliable it is so I'll wait and see if there will be any comments from IE Win Users.

The Godfather, I think you should start your own Graphic Arts Weblog. I just love seeing other people's unique art style and find out how it was developed. MindFad's 3-Min Video of NSFG was amazing and helpful.

Oh, go on. *blush* Black lines, pink blotches, an inner glow, some mosaic pixelixation, and a marquee slice and gradient. I do plan on getting tutorials up on the site, maybe making some changes (to stagnant sections).

Anyway, Adam, amazing site, beautifully done. If they had an Oscar for best use of Portable Network Graphics, you would win, my friend. It's inspired me to get going with tutorials and start a web log of my own, though, seriously. A web log of current projects (ones I can show or talk about, of course) is a great idea.

I've always wanted to put some complex site designs together, but I suck at the coding part except for the very basics (see: MindFad.com). Kudos to Jan Van Boghout, too, man. No tables? Seriously? With CSS? I ... I never imagined such a thing.

Beautiful stuff. Keep up the great work, as always.

I know that there is a JavaScript floating around on the web somewhere that will make IE display PNG correctly, transparency and all. I used to have it, but I don't anymore. Here it is.

There is also another JS that will render fixed positioning correctly in IE, although the page does not scroll smoothly for IE. You get that JS 'stutter'. You can find here. In searching I also found this workaround. Never used it though, so I can't comment. Maybe I'll give it a shot this weekend.

Oh yea, nice site too!

Haha yeah, Polywogg was a nice choice for blogging but unfortunately the page skin customization was kinda limited.

Bookmarked your site.. You got good stuff going on

benb, many thanks for the IE positioning hack link. They'll be pretty helpful to me and many others.

Out of curiosity, why didn't you use Firefox instead?

I'll see what I can do about making them appear in IE

Fucking awesome design Adam and Jan!!

Awesome though the scrolling is, out of usability reasons you really should let the menus stay where they are when you scroll

How about for extra eyecandy you make the glass of the logo (where Adam Betts is reflected) a bit transparent so the content shines through?

What do you mean by that? I'm not sure if I understand the meaning of 'hierarchy' clearly.

I don't think he was attacking, but some examples and an explanation on the "horsey" look would be cool.

This post seem to be more of an attack on me than trying to be helpful. Are you angry at me for some reason?
I think he's saying that he feels that your name / title graphic takes up too much space on the page, not allowing other elements to stand out at all. The hierarchy is then ruined because elements aren't emphasized in a 'sensable' order.

I see his point, but I still love the new site. I actually stumbled onto it a few hours before you posted it here in the lounge and my jaw just dropped at that point. Very nicely done!
