One of the big announcements yesterday was a free new tune every Tuesday. What nobody seems to have mentioned though is Apple is also giving away a new song every day this week.

So be sure to go get your free song every day this week, and every Tuesday after that.

Yes but not legally, Also you never know the quality you will get from the songs you DL. If you are able to download from the sources.

Actually, it's the billing address of the credit card that matters.

Ya I heard Steves sales pitch. I can clearly see what level the songs were encoded and have many more options rather then Apple Stores 1 encoding option.

Plus I can burn and share all I like.

As for legal... it is legal in Canada so

While that's true you still have to find one that you are able to download from. I've had many times where I've found a song using Poisoned and it didn't download. I had to try a few of them before it would download.

True. I do use it for stuff I can't find on iTMS and stuff I can. I like to download a song and if I like it then I purchase it from iTMS.

Don't worry. The two songs they've given out so far are pretty crappy.

Once iTunes comes to Canada, I will be using it.
I still buy CD's, infact over the last month I have bought about 14 of them, but I like the idea of being able to buy singles and maybe a few others that I dont care about the insert like soundtracks for example.
Who reads this???

Yeah, I love it when a song shows up as a 160KB MP3 and you download it only to find that it is approximately 30 seconds of song followed by 3 minutes of screech-owl.

As far as legal, AFAIK the Canada law protects a user's right to publish copyrighted material, but people who download that material knowing they are violating copyright are breaking the law. Their example from the library is applicable: 'In that recent case, the Supreme Court ruled that libraries were not "authorizing" copyright infringement simply by putting photocopy machines near books. The libraries were justified in assuming that their customers were using the copiers in a legal manner, the high court ruled.' - since it is still possible to use the copiers in the library in an illegal manner (reproducing copies for sale, etc).

It doesn't matter if something is legal, it's still not right to steal.

If the Itunes Music Store is not available soon in Canada, I'll have to resort to stealing.
