Awesome. I love this app. It replaced BBEdit for me.

Thanks for the heads up. FYI this version is incompatible with version 1 for network sharing features, and not all syntax definitions have made it over yet. But they added the bash mode to the default install. I wrote one for ksh which hasn't made it yet. sniff sniif

The comments are now not only colorized but italic. I like it!

Nice!

It's 10.3 only though. Bummer. My brother refuses to upgrade his computer to 10.3 from 10.2. Pretty lame.

I just found this the other day and I LOVE it for editing PHP, HTML, and CSS, etc.

I can't wait to download this new version.

How did it come to this? Goodbye PowerPC. | sensory output

They are great!
I gave them some money through PayPal half a year ago and today they've sent me a free commercial license for SubEthaEdit2. Seems like altruism eventually works. :-))))
Here's their mail:

Dear SubEthaEdit User,

I'm writing you this email, because you are one of twenty persons who backed us up financially by donating via our Paypal account. Again, thank you very much for supporting TheCodingMonkeys.

Beginning with version 2.0 SubEthaEdit requires a license for commercial use.
To thank you for your early support we are excited to present you with a complimentary license.

When I read your post, I checked my email, and I got a license too! Woohoo! These guys rock. They've always responded to my feedback and have been very helpful.

I especially like the Hitchhiker's name.

SubEthaEdit is sweet. I expecially love the block editing over Rendezvous feature. I didn't see it mentioned on the 2.0 site, but I remember seeing Quicktime movies demonstrating it a few months back on the older 1.x version. Very slick program.

I'm really impressed with the live web preview. It opens a preview window while you're coding html. You leave it open, and it dynamically updates the preview as you close tags. Very slick.

wowowowow. this is one cool update. i just found out about block-editing ... a very nifty and unique (at least to me?) feature.

Do you have a screenshot of how this works? This could be the feature I've been looking for...
