I noticed something about iChat integration (and since I'm too engrossed in revision, I can't be bothered to look into it). Can anyone expand on this? I'm allowed to be lazy and ask dumb questions sometimes...

i didn't look properly, either (RTFM? are you mad?). i did, however, try dragging a name from iChat into the SEE users list: denied.

(i think we should nominate Diggory to do our homework for us, for 50p each)

Diggory...
Your SubEthaEdit seems most interesting. Can you clarify a bit about its intended audience. Is is mostly for programming type work? i.e., it only edits .txt, not rtf?

I could really use software for my writing partner to collaborate on writing articles (not pgms). Any thoughts on the suitability for this type of application? Perhaps can be used only for the bare TEXT of an article (i.e. no underlining, boldfacing, italics, indentation, etc. allowed) - and then formating has to be applied later?

Diggory - that's well worth the 50p

Now, if I hadn't spent all my money at the bar just now (that's right - it's only ~7 o'clock...) I'd be able to afford the 50p.

I love student bars - $1.35 a pint is lovely

Love Calm Quite:
I seem to remember the SubEthaEdit site mentioning that it was for more than just programmers, and promoting creative writing work...

Once again, I haven't done my homework - so to earn your 50p you'll need to go to the site yourself

Thanks for all the cash.

I didn't write SubEthaEdit - LCQ, I suppose I should have put more in the first post.

I'm just a fan and thought I'd bring it to people's attention that v2 was out.

Ohh - and there's a nice .mode addition that has syntax highlighting for apache config files. (although in the end I always tend to edit them in the terminal for permissions reasons.)

As for rich text:
from the FAQ:
Any chance of RTF support?

SubEthaEdit is a plain text editor. However, we are evaluating the idea of a collaborative rich text editor and might release an application like that in the future
