I'm using Tomcat 5.0.24 on Mac OS X 10.2 with Java 1.4.1_01.

I'm seeing an error:

Catalina.stop: java.net.SocketException: Reply from SOCKS server has bad version
java.net.SocketException: Reply from SOCKS server has bad version

I get this when I try to shut down Tomcat, and when I try to use OpenCMS. I was able to intall OpenCMS by physically taking out the network adapter and starting Tomcat.

Why is it going to SOCKS server at all? I've set up my machine to bypass the proxy for localhost, 127.0.0.1 and the various versions of my hostname. I hope someone at least has a hint..

Thanks,
Chris
